In this lesson, you will learn how to check your memory setting, review and remove facts, inspect memory use in replies, and keep project memory separate.
Try it: remember an answer preference
Pretend you often want concise checklists for planning tasks.
Open the Settings gear menu at the top and choose Memory. Under Should Mono remember details about you across chats?, check Remember or Don't remember. Choose Remember only if you want the following practice fact saved.
In a normal new chat, send:
Remember that I prefer concise checklists when planning everyday tasks.Under the answer, open More → Memory saved, when active, to inspect recorded new memory. In later replies, More → Memories used shows which recorded memories were supplied. Inactive entries mean no activity was recorded for that category; old replies do not gain records retroactively.
Return to Saved memories in settings. Review the entry and its source where shown. Use Delete to remove unwanted practice information. To correct a fact, remove the outdated entry and state the corrected fact in a chat with remembering enabled.
To stop using memory, choose Don't remember. This does not delete earlier saved memories or conversations; remove unwanted entries separately. Temporary chats do not use normal memory.
Keep project memory separate
- Open a project's Project settings → Memory.
- Default allows relevant memory to cross project boundaries. Project-only keeps the project's memories inside it and excludes outside memories, including for earlier memories associated with that project.
- Choose the scope you need, save, and test with a new project chat. This isolates memory; it does not change who can access shared project files and conversations.
Bring memories from another tool
Under Memory → Import, follow the instructions for your source chat tool. Paste the answer containing facts, not the helper prompt, then review the saved entries. This imports memories rather than full conversation history and does not keep the tools synchronized.
Check your result
You know which memory behavior is selected, can inspect recorded activity and remove a fact, and can choose a project's memory boundary.
