In this lesson, you will learn how to create a project, add instructions and files, move and arrange chats, and manage shared access.
Try it: organize a community event
Pretend you are planning a neighborhood picnic.
Open the sidebar. In Projects, click New project. Name it “Practice picnic” and create it.
Open More at the top of the project and choose Settings. Under Instructions, enter: “Help plan a small neighborhood picnic. Keep suggestions practical and flag missing information.” Set Model if you want a project default. Plugin for new chats can preselect a connected plugin; leave No plugin for this exercise.
Under Memory, compare Default with Project-only. Choose Project-only if memories should stay within this project. Save your settings. Start a new chat to test changed instructions.
In Files, click New. Give the text file a name, enter a few practice facts—“Saturday, 20 guests, bring your own lunch”—and use Create. You can reopen text files to edit them.
Use Upload or drag a harmless local document onto the project's file area. Wait for processing. Leave Use file in chats enabled for references you want available. Disable it to exclude a file without deleting it; the remove control deletes the project reference. Downloadable originals can be opened through their file links. For longer lists, Show all and Show less control visibility.
Choose New chat inside the project and ask:
Using the picnic notes, draft a preparation checklist.Name the relevant file if Mono misses it. File selection in settings lets you guide which references are chosen. A file being available does not mean every request includes its full contents.
Try the project's Voice Mode or Author Mode action when available. These start work in this project's context too.
Move and arrange chats
- Find a harmless saved chat. Open its menu and choose Move, then select “Practice picnic”.
- On a computer with a mouse, drag a chat onto the project in the sidebar. You can also drop it at a specific position in the project's chat list.
- Drag chats within a list to reorder them. Drag a project chat into Recents to take it out of the project, or into Favorites to add a favorite. You can also use Add favorite in its menu.
Project chats appear in their project rather than Recents. Moving a chat changes its project context, so keep sensitive conversations in the right place.
Sharing and managing the project
Open Share to review access. It becomes Shared when other members have access. To collaborate for real, enter an email under Invite person and use Invite; skip sending invitations during practice. Existing members can be removed using their remove control, and invitations appear for recipients to accept or reject.
Use project options to rename it or open Project settings. Delete project can remove its chats for other members too; read the confirmation and do not use it as a way to tidy the sidebar. A member leaving a shared project is different from its owner deleting it.
Check your result
You have a project with instructions, a reference, and a related chat. You know how to move chats and distinguish personal organization from shared access.
