Workspace

A workspace manages team access and shared rules. Each member uses their own account. You can skip this lesson if you use Mono alone.

In this lesson, you will learn how workspace membership, administrator rights, funded seats, and project sharing differ.

Try it: understand a small team's setup

Pretend three colleagues want to use Mono with shared organization settings. For practice, inspect what is already available; you do not need to create a workspace, invite anyone, or pay.

  1. Open Settings → Workspace if you belong to one. Otherwise, Create workspace can appear in Account for eligible accounts. Creating it is only necessary when you actually want team administration.
  2. Review Members. An administrator can use Add member, enter the email and plan, and use Invite member. An invitation, accepted membership, an assigned plan, and a funded seat are separate things.
  3. Review Seats. Check whether paid capacity matches the team's assigned plans. Payment controls such as Pay for seats in use or Cancel unused seats can appear for admins depending on the situation. Read the current summary before any real change; removing a member does not necessarily cancel unused billed seats.
  4. Find the workspace's Anonymization and Exclude providers settings. Admins can set common rules; personal settings cannot bypass a workspace exclusion. Use Save for actual shared-setting changes.
  5. In member controls, admins can use Make admin or Remove as admin. Ensure another admin exists before removing the last one. Members without admin rights can see the settings but cannot make administrator changes.
  6. To collaborate on specific chats and files, create or share a Project separately. Workspace membership alone is not a project invitation.

If someone cannot work despite being a member, an admin should check their assigned plan, seat funding, and subscription status. Plans in one workspace share currency and billing cycle. Use the account's current controls or support for changes the interface does not offer.

You can explain who administers the team, why membership is different from a funded seat, and why project sharing is still a separate step.
